Second Nature
Vivian Wolovitz’s “Second Nature” exhibition at Projects Gallery, Philadelphia (November 5 – December 18, 2010) showcased her latest abstract paintings inspired by natural landscapes. Known for her textured, atmospheric compositions, Wolovitz used layered oil paint, scoring, and scraping techniques to create luminous depth.
With an M.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art and over 30 years as a professor, she has exhibited internationally and received a Pennsylvania Council for the Arts grant. Her work reflects the wooded surroundings of her Chester County farmhouse, capturing nature’s essence through abstraction.
This solo exhibition reinforced her reputation for evocative, landscape-inspired art.
